PCI DSS

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) was developed by the major credit card companies.  The goal of PCI is to prevent security breaches that might result in credit card fraud or the theft of personal data.

While the PCI requirements seem simple in theory, many organizations in practice would not pass an outside audit.  Security breaches have resulted in multi-million dollar liabilities for companies which did not follow PCI guidelines.

If your company handles Social Security numbers or credit card payments, your managed services provider (MSP) should be certified for PCI.  Ixilix is certified for PCI and will provide copies of our certification upon request.
